DYG Projects: Tony Tasset Reception for the artist January 19th, 5 – 7:30 PM

Inaugurating DYG PROJECTS will be the presentation of Tony Tasset’s 1998 work Judy, a 35 mm six-second film loop. The work is the artist’s momentary portrait of his wife and her brisk and revealing reaction to the camera’s gaze. Working across the disciplines of film, photography, sculpture and video, Tasset makes work that explores systems of representation in our contemporary culture, shifting between subtle identity awareness and full-blown narcissism. Tony Tasset has lived and worked in Chicago for over fifteen years.

The reception is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 10-5:30, and Saturdays, 11-5:30. If you would like more information, please contact Emily Letourneau at 312.455.0100.
