The second DYG PROJECTS, an ongoing series of presentations and exhibitions, will be the premiere of Kirsten Stoltmann’s new video installation Let’s Get It On. Consisting of a double video projection and accompanying soundtrack, the work features the artist in multiple settings and situations but always positioned inconspicuously either just outside or traveling through the action: parties, get togethers, group activities from which she is excluded. This work continues Stoltmann’s use of role-playing to investigate desire, projection and her own position as an artist. Born in Milwaukee in 1968, Stoltmann received her MFA from University of Illinois at Chicago and her work has been exhibited in both national and international venues.Both receptions are free and open to the public.
